Objectives include:

1)  Understanding how mechanical forces on peripheral intravenous (PIV) tubing can cause catheter manipulation that precipitate mechanical IV catheter complications

2)  Demonstrating an understanding of how a Force-Activated Separation Device (FASD) is installed on a PIV line, the process for replacing a FASD, and how a FASD functions.

3) Interpreting and discussing randomized, controlled trial data results that detail the impact that a FASD can have on mechanical PIV complication rates and delays in therapy.
