Another Exciting "I SAVE THAT WEBINAR":

Join us as we delve into the composition of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs) and Midline catheters, predominantly crafted from polyurethane, coated, and impregnated materials.  These materials' interactions with proteins and cellular adherence lead to complications like infection, thrombosis, and occlusion.  Dr. Nancy Moureau PhD, RN, CRNI, CPUI, VA-BC discusses her extensive literature review which describes established benchmark results for these complications while also examining material types comparatively.  Additionally, she will discuss the economic impact of these complications and the high priority of prevention.

Join us to gain insights that will enhance your understanding of how the prevention of thrombosis, catheter occlusion and infection are high priorities for maintaining catheter function for infusions.

Over the last decade, infusion nurses have been increasingly challenged by patients presenting with difficult vascular access and selecting the right device for patients has become more difficult due to comples organizational factors.  Periperal intravenous catheters (PIVCs) and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs) are popular choices for short-to-moderate term intravenous treatments, while midline catheters (MCs) offer an alternate option but with limited uptake due to lack of clinical data.

Join us for a presentation by Dr. Nicole Marsh, PhD, MAdvPrac, BN on recent midline catheters (MC) research including international guidelines and results from two randomized controlled trials in Brisbane, Australia.

INS and AVA, in collaboration with other individuals and organizations, have just launched the second part of the vascular access equity study.  The hope is that through this survey, the data collected will help make meaningful changes in IV access and the delivery of care.

Be a part of changing PIVC access care!  Anyone in the United States and Canada who has inserted a PIVC may complete the survey.  It only takes 10 minutes.
